Thank you for inquiring about my home daycare! My name is Tracy Hansen, and I am the owner and operator of Caterpillar Daycare. I’ve been a licensed Family Child Care provider in Scott County for nearly 25 years, with an additional 14 years of babysitting experience before that.

At Caterpillar Daycare, every child becomes a part of our extended family. We learn and grow together through play—using blocks, a play kitchen, dress-up clothes, trucks, puzzles, games, baby dolls, and so much more.

Our large backyard offers plenty of outdoor fun with swings, slides, a playhouse, sandbox, and even a garden. In the warmer months, we plant seeds in our greenhouse and share extra plants with our community—teaching kids the value of nurturing and giving back.

We follow a preschool program during the school year, focusing on ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes, sight words, and basic sign language. Just as importantly, we work on social skills—learning how to share, be respectful, and build friendships within our group.

We also care for a few animal friends, including our Golden Retriever, some chickens, and fish—giving children the opportunity to learn about responsibility and empathy through daily care.
